First of all, my name is Ilissa (Long “I”, lissa).
I’m a 23-year-old multimedia journalist from Detroit, where I am the editorial assistant at BLAC Detroit Magazine. My influences as far as journalism are Harriet the Spy, Hunter S. Thompson and Helen Thomas. Lucky enough to have worked with Oneita Jackson.
I’ve stared down rats in Georgetown, been bitten by a swan in London, kissed by a drunk in Liverpool, ridden a camel in Israel and enjoyed nightswimming in the Mediterranean Sea in Cannes.
